Douglas G. Rohde
Douglas G. RohdePresident and CEO
Mr. Rohde’s founded LHR Hospitality in 2001. Acquiring a new Lodge and Conference Center in a beautiful Northwood’s setting fast tracked to much success allowing for quick expansion that led to the umbrella company of Lodge Hotels & Resorts. Soon after, further development and growth of several additional properties including all major brands, our name needed a broader meaning which lead to LHR Hospitality Management. Mr. Rohde primarily oversees development and expansion of the LHR brand, its properties and future growth of the Company.

Prior to operating his own hotel management and development company, he was a VP at the North Central Region for Sunstone Hotel Properties, a company with 70 hotels that carried 13 different brands. He also served as General Manager, Director of Sales and Marketing and Food & Beverage Manager at various properties for Larken Hotels, Hilton Hotels Corporation and Marriott Hotels Corporations.

Mr. Rohde earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management from the University of Wisconsin, Stout. He also serves on several boards throughout the hospitality industry and is very involved in tourism legislation throughout Wisconsin and Minnesota.

Doug Karle

Doug began his career with LHR in 2006 as General Manager at one of our managed full-service properties. Shortly after he was promoted to VP of Operations at the corporate level and became a partner soon after and now serves as COO. His background includes over twenty years in the hospitality industry with all major brands including Hilton, IHG, and Starwood. His background includes hotel operations, food & beverage, sales, marketing and human resources. Additionally, he owns and operates residential real estate in the White Bear Lake area. He volunteers his time with the VHL Alliance, Five Stone Media, and VFW Post 1782 in White Bear Lake, MN. He lives in Mahtomedi, MN and spends his leisure time boating, biking and spending time with his family.
Melia E. Nagel
Melia E. NagelExecutive Assistant / Human Resources
Ms. Nagel joined LHR in March 2006. She brought with her more than ten years of experience at the hotel property and corporate meeting planning level. She has worked in the Sales and Catering departments of Hilton and of luxury, independent hotels, where she was responsible for the high-profile political groups and for four of the hotel’s Top Ten accounts. She also gained a big-picture understanding of the hotel industry by spending time in every department at a mountain resort in Colorado.

Ms. Nagel earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Aviation Business Administration from Embry Riddle Aeronautical University in Prescott, Arizona.

Lisa Miller
Lisa MillerDirector of Finance
With over thirty years of banking and finance experience, Ms. Miller joined LHR in 2018. Past banking experience includes President of Merchants Bank in Lakeville, MN and Vice President/Controller, Commercial Lending Vice President and Financial Analyst with Wells Fargo. In addition, she has eight years of past Controller and Sales Manager experience in the restaurant industry. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business and a Masters of Business Administration with concentrations in Finance and Marketing from the University of Minnesota.
Jenny Gerold
Jenny GeroldRegional Operations/Sales & Marketing
Ms. Gerold joined LHR in March 2016 as the General Manager of the Holiday Inn Elk River. Having proven her extensive background in hospitality management with over seventeen years in accounting, revenue management, business planning, hiring and training, new property openings, sales and marketing, and project management she is responsible for Regional Operations and Sales and Marketing at the corporate level.

Ms. Goldenstein is the newest member of the LHR team with experience in banking and accounting. She is pursuing a degree in Accounting from Globe University.

Steve Rohde, Director Regional Operations / Asset Transition

Mr. Rohde has been with LHR since its inception in 2001 as an ownership partner in The Lodge at Crooked Lake and has served as its General Manager since 2003. With over 15 years of hospitality experiences he has held positions in Food & Beverage, Guest Services, Marketing and Accounting with Hilton, Holiday Inn and Marriott.

He holds a Bachelors degree in Business Administration from the University of Wisconsin, Eau Claire.
